Features an entire second CD of rarities and demos, The Looks or the Lifestyle is one of the best pop albums ever created. Highly recommended from Storming the Base!!

In 1992, PWEI took the radical step of recruiting a drummer, one Fuzz Townsend.  After honing their hip hop / techno / rock fusion over three previous albums, “The Looks Or The Lifestyle” saw them take a more traditional, ‘song’ orientated approach, whilst managing to retain their live popularity and increase their commercial success. The record bore several hit singles (‘Karmadrome’, ‘Bulletproof’, ‘Get The Girl! Kill The Baddies’) and also introduced them to a new audience in the wake of the grunge explosion of 1991.

Spread across 2CDs, this set presents a fascinating insight into the album’s development, containing nine of the band’s own ‘bedroom’ demos for the album, recorded before the recruitment of a drummer (including a song which was never released), alongside the best of the b-sides and remixes from this period in their career and a promo only version of ‘Get The Girl!’.

Accompanied by sleeve-notes by the band’s own Adam Mole, an essay on this period and some fantastic archive images, this package provides a fascinating insight into a very successful era of change in PWEI’s career.

A must have package for any PWEI fan, and a brilliant showcase of a remarkable album. This record has international appeal and promises to put the band’s trailblazing career under the microscope again.
