As with most Synthpop bands, the musical ancestry of the band obviously lies in the eighties and nineties. ‘Playground of the Past’ presents 10 retro-electropop songs of soft and catchy synthesizer-atmospheres, partially enriched by decent guitars. Danceable songs alternate with atmospheric, romantic ballads, while the lyrics are used in an allegorical way and can be interpreted in various ways. What makes this surprising debut special is the gentle mixture of synthesizers and guitars, that give the album in its entirety a very pleasant, special and original sound. A must have for fans of De/Vision, Mesh or 80ies Electro/Synth-Pop!
