With each new
creation there is that magical point where the first pen-stroke is pulled across
the parchment, the first drops moisten the mortar and the clocks are turned
back. Each cycle of the moon also firstly begins with darkness: the new moon (in
German, der Neumond). With their new work, the musicians from WOLFENMOND
conclude all of the phases of the moon that we have experienced with them over
the last ten years. The mixture of electronic sounds and historical instruments
represents a new beginning with which WOLFENMOND inaugurate a new cycle. The
listener will be transfixed by the five titles appearing here in a new guise.
The title track ‘Neumond’ comes across with the usual expressive lyrics and
sounds of the shawm (a predecessor of the oboe) but also with electronic sounds,
and spectacularly demonstrates the new paths which WOLFENMOND propose to follow.
But the musicians from WOLFENMOND don’t go along these paths alone. Artists such
as Ingo Hampf from SUBWAY TO SALLY, Nicholas Albanis from DANDELION WINE (from
Australia) and Matthias Ambré from ASP as well as further high-calibre artists
have picked up their idea and have combined WOLFENMOND pieces with electronic
sounds. 14 musical creations make ‘Neumond’ a total work of art of new energy
and WOLFENMOND. Released on Trisol and available August 28th,
2009.
