In the year 2000
ZEROMANCER glowed like the aurora borealis, but that was not the only similarity
to that which glows in the cold northern sky. Powerful, mysterious, cool,
fascinating and at the same time beautiful they conquered Europe. The album’s
title track ‘Clone Your Lover’ was not only released as a single, which gained
prompt entry into the charts, but was surely the secret wish of many women (and
men) upon sight of the lads because Alex and his gang in ZEROMANCER exuded
alongside a cool and irresistible rock attitude also a sex appeal the likes of
which one hadn’t experienced in the music scene for a long time. Musically, with
an impressive and energy-laden sound of their very own they didn’t need to fear
comparison with apparent rivals such as HIM, NIN or Marilyn Manson. But yet
slowly ZEROMANCER’s shimmering northern light seemed to fade. With the two
following albums they noticeably moved themselves onto the well-trodden path to
the mainstream and disappeared into the monotony of everyday generic musical
doodling, just as the light in the sky becomes covered by grey clouds. In 2009
ZEROMANCER are back! The northern light shines powerfully,
having escaped from the standardised mush of the mainstream. The lads once more
present powerful rock, just as they did on their first album. Some festival appearances have already
shown the not-long-since extinct fans that ZEROMANCER have returned to form with their
new songs and that they will
by
the same token shine in the future. On the long-awaited new album
‘Sinners International’ they combine rousing guitar chords, hammering beats, unbelievably catchy hooklines
and seductively striking vocals to form a compendium of potential hits that no-one
will be able to pass by. Gone are the anodyne bleatings and the casting-couch
boys so beloved of
mothers-in-law! With their
hit, ‘It Sounds Like Love (But it Looks Like Sex)’ ZEROMANCER bring back that which
gothic, electro and metal have been missing for years. Sex and rock
‘n’ roll, packed with energy, whose dark and yet energetic anthems will
stir not just the underground. ‘Sinners International’: ‘filth noir’ with which
ZEROMANCER will once more take not only the festival stages
and dancefloors by storm but also the hearts of their
female (and male) fans. Released on
Trisol
and
available February 13th, 2009.
