TRISOMIE 21 belong to the legendary pioneers of the cold electronic music
movement together with luminaries such as FRONT 242, NEON JUDGEMENT ,TUXEDOMOON,
THE YOUNG GODS, etc. Originally formed in 1980 by the Lomprez brothers Hervé and
Philippe, the French act often got compared to cold wave movement bands like THE
CURE, JOY DIVISION, DURUTTI COLUMN, etc. With an impressive discography under
their belt and a solid live experience gained through extensive touring across
the whole world, TRISOMIE 21 have established a very strong reputation over the
last 25 years and in that time, they have designed their very own music style
described by most as cold wave electronic haunted by a dark soul. The singer’s
unique vocal tone and their unmatchable sense for touching deep melodies
contributed to the rich character of the band. After seven years of impenetrable
silence besides some scarce compilation appearances, TRISOMIE 21 surprised
everyone by giving a new sign of life through a remix for the French mega pop
stars of INDOCHINE in 2003, and by releasing their brand new studio album “Happy
Mystery Child” the year after. A move that marked in stone the strong and
impressive return of the French cold-wave cult band TRISOMIE 21 right back to
the forefront of the scene. While revealing a more mature songwriting approach,
more polished and refined melodies and strengthened choruses, the soul of the
band had remained intact to the ultimate pleasure of their faithful early
fanbase. Thanks to the band’s openminded attitude and the fresh and modern
tonality of this new album, “Happy Mystery Child” was also released in various
remix forms allowing T21 to conquer new fans and find their way through the
latest e-clash and electro/techno movements, through remixes by artists like
David Carretta, The Hacker, Paul Kendall, Millimetric, The Horrorist, Lady B,
etc.
In 2007, TRISOMIE 21 joined hands with the Belgian label Alfa Matrix for the
celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary.
For the occasion, Alfa-Matrix will release the live album “rendez-vous en
France” which was recorded during the band’s last “Happy Mystery tour” and which
can be seen as a “best of” release of TRISOMIE 21. The stellar tracklist speaks
for itself (the last song, red or green, il se noie, la fete triste, waiting
for, midnight of my life, etc.)… This release also responds to the fans’
pressing demand to get the good old hits re-released since T21’s back-catalogue
has been nearly impossible to find in record stores for many years. But the
French brothers have much more to offer to their faithful fanbase by adding a
bonus disc in the“25 years“ limited carton box edition of the album which
gathers a unique and splendid collection of 13 exclusive unreleased tracks and
demo’s; pure vintage material dating back from TRISOMIE 21’s early days (between
1978 and 1981!!)… With a cherry on the (birthday) cake, the limited edition also
includes 7 additional bonus live tracks recorded in Lille (France) including the
rare favourites “Jakarta” and “Breaking Down”. This limited edition also
contains a button and postcard. A super limited large (25 cm x 33 cm) box “fan
edition” is also available with the limited album as well. This special feature
package includes a “This is not the last song” T-shirt (white on black, both
sides) and some bonus goodies including 2 special 25 years postcards, 2 buttons,
2 stickers & 1 key chain. The size of the T-shirt inside the box can be chosen
until stock exhaustion: M, L, XL. Released on Alfa Matrix and available November
30th, 2007.
