„For a long, long time I’ve been waiting here for you to be by my side.“
Lyrics from „Good You Are“, the opener to „Heads, We’re Dancing“, Crash Tokio’s
new Album release.
Ah,… yes. I have been quite impatient. I really don’t like to have to wait too
long. Two years?!
Who’d like to have to wait that long after an album as good as “We Are Plastic“?
Finally, the waiting is over.
So what now? Now is enthusiasm. Pure, total rapture. This is so much more that
mere IndiePop.
CRASH TOKIO have been around since 2000. Their debut EP „We Love You No More“ (Blickpunkt
Pop) came out in that year to serious critical acclaim.
Pese (vocals), Nina Kränsel (bass) and Hase Höfer (guitar) had been playing
together in various bands since schooldays in their native Munich (Miles,
Phonoboy, etc). Drummer Seppes Schumann (hello Keith Moon!) completed the line
up early 2000.
2004 saw the release of WE ARE PLASTIC on Hamburg based Indie tapete records.
Recorded in Munich, performed to audiences in Germany top to bottom, left to
right and heard in radios and living rooms worldwide.
And so here comes HEADS, WE’RE DANCING, the highly anticipated follow up.
According to the band this one was to sound like a mix between New Order, Duran
Duran, the Steve Miller Band and Disco. Quite a heady mix, the album was
recorded and mixed early 2006.
Synths arpeggios, indierock guitars, strings, disco beats, ....everything goes
on HEADS, WE’RE DANCING. All held together by exciting, ecstatic songs that put
the Pop back into Indie Pop. This one’ll also get you dancing! Enjoy. Released
on Tapete Records and available October 13th, 2006.
