File under: New Wave, Synth-pop, Minimal Around 1980/81 Oxford based band Exit 13 changed their sound & changed their name to Aerial FX. They signed a publishing deal with Island Music, released 2 singles (So hard and Take if from here on Island Records) and then bagged enough studio time to record the Watching the Dance album. After an intense period of live concerst all over the UK, around 1983 the focus changed to studio recordings and two members left the band. The other 3 continued writing & recording and EMI Records signed them mid 1983. Unfortunately there were creative disagreements with EMI and Aerial FX didn't progress in the studio and were finally being dropped at the end of 1984. Their studio experiments continued for another couple of years but nothing was released and in 1986 they stopped making music under Aerial FX. Nowadays Aerial FX founder Chris Hufford is well-known in music industry as the manager of Radiohead, Super- grass and Gamma Hayes, he also produced some of Radiohead's early recordings, a group he would help steer to massive global success. Chris also run his new project Anti Atlas (Downtempo, IDM, ambient). Today finally, this collection features a total of 12 previously unreleased AFX tracks, recorded between 1980 and 1984! A true Collectors item for lovers of 80ies New Wave! Released on Other Voices and available November 1st, 2010.<
